Extensivierung bedeutet, ein Verfahren oder einen Prozess, in Relation zu einem Standard oder zu einem vorherigen Zeitpunkt, mit geringerem Einsatz betrieblicher Produktionsfaktoren durchzuführen. Übliche betriebswirtschaftlich beschreibbare Produktionsfaktoren sind beispielsweise Arbeitszeit, Betriebsmittel, Kapitalgüter und Boden.
